The fact that the Mount Osmond Golf Club has a history at all is testament to the determination of Mr Sydney Melbourne - the then district engineer of the council of Burnside in 1924.
If it wasn’t for his vision and stubbornness the prime location where the club now proudly stands, 400 metres above sea level, would no doubt be part of the lower Adelaide Hills residential zone.
After the council declined his plan to create a public golf course, Mr Melbourne co-opted the support and spirit of other like-minded golf lovers and formed a syndicate to purchase the land. They then formed a company and in 1927 offered shares to the public.
“Open to public everyday from 10-4pm the Mount Osmond Golf Club’s head Chef Ben White endeavours to present quality food at accommodating prices, choosing only the best seasonal produce to craft his creations and the classic favourites. For a special occasion or luncheon, please call and book a table and our professional front of house staff with prepare you a private table with an unbeatable view, looking after your every need.
Our WINE AND DINES held monthly on a Friday evening, are consistently successful and details of our next feature winery can be found in the Upcoming events section above. Bring a group and enjoy a two-course meal and wine tasting to end the working week.
